Global forests fall before green attacks

Living in cities has a way of insulating people from the consequences of their choices. We carefully nurture the trees we love in parks and gardens and have pictures of forests on our walls. But the labelling of wood as "renewable energy" is having far reaching consequences. A recently published precision satellite mapping study has concluded that the amount of wood logged from European forests between 2016 and 2018 rose by 69 percent compared to the amount logged between 2011 and 2015.
